What GPT Image 2.6 generates
GPT Image 2.6 adds Flare and Sunburst, GIF, SVG, and reference edits. APIMart had not marked the model live on 5 November 2026.
OpenAI published Images 2.6 on 4 November 2026. The public model split is Flare for speed and Sunburst for quality. The API values are gpt-image-2.6-flare (the default) and gpt-image-2.6-sunburst. Both accept the same request.
You can ask for a still image (PNG, JPEG, or WebP), a transparent PNG, a GIF, or an SVG. Still images can include up to 16 reference images. GIF and SVG are text-only.
OpenAI’s token price matches Images 2.5: $8 per million input tokens and $30 per million output tokens. Compared with 2.5, low quality uses 4.2× the output tokens and medium uses 3.3×. High, extra-high, and max are unchanged. Flare and Sunburst share those rates.
APIMart’s model page, checked on 5 November 2026, still said GPT Image 2.6 was not yet live and had not published a dollar price. This site submits only 2.6. If the provider rejects the job, you see that error and the credits come back once. There is no silent fallback to 2.5.
On this site a 1K still costs 1 credit, 2K costs 2, and 4K costs 4. A GIF costs 1 credit per frame. Packs are one-time and do not expire. See pricing and the Flare vs Sunburst comparison.
