Flare vs Sunburst for GPT Image 2.6
GPT Image 2.6 has two model values. gpt-image-2.6-flare is the default and is the fast option. gpt-image-2.6-sunburst is the quality option. This site sends the one you pick and does not substitute the other.
APIMart documents the same request for both: prompt, size, resolution, quality, output format, up to 16 reference images, and optional mask or markup. GIF and SVG stay text-only on both models. Flare and Sunburst share token rates. Relative to GPT Image 2.5, low quality uses 4.2× output tokens and medium uses 3.3×. High, extra-high, and max are unchanged from 2.5. OpenAI’s API price for this generation is the same as 2.5: $8 per million input tokens and $30 per million output tokens. APIMart had not published its own dollar price on 5 November 2026, and the model page still said not yet live.
Credit price on this site does not change between Flare and Sunburst. A 1K still is 1 credit, 2K is 2, 4K is 4, and a GIF is 1 credit per frame.
